Ford Endeavour is one of the most popular full size SUV on sale in the market. It competes with cars like Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Isuzu MU-X in the segment. Ford Endeavour is known for its looks and off-road capabilities in the market. It is a proven SUV that is already on sale in international markets under different names.

We have seen several videos online where the old and new Endeavour SUVs can be seen handling off-road conditions effortlessly. It is also a popular SUV in the modification circle and several wildly modified examples of the same are also available in the market. Here we have an Endeavour with a very unique type of modification. It gets massive 26 inch alloy wheels.

The video has been uploaded by Dev Vlogs on his YouTube channel. The Endeavour seen here is most probably the pre-facelift version. The modification seen here is one of a kind and it is probably the only Endeavour in the country to get such massive alloys. The owner has completely blacked out the bumpers and skid plate to give it neat black look. The chrome on the front grille, ORVMs and door handles have been retained.

The reason for that is the massive 26 inch alloy wheel. the wheel has a flower like design with chrome finish to it. The massive alloy wheel, low profile tyre give it an American SUV like look. Some might find the the low profile tyres and the massive alloy wheels appealing but, personally we feel that, it was an overkill. This modification will also ruin the ride quality and handling capabilities of the vehicle.

India’s only Ford Endeavour SUV with a 26 inch aftermarket wheels

Such modifications are actually great for show vehicles as it affects the off-road abilities of the Endeavour. The owner cannot drive the SUV at high speeds on these wheels because of the above mentioned issued. It is not know whether the owner has installed spacers for getting these massive wheels installed. Not much information is available regarding the modifications done on this SUV. The SUV does look neat but, it is not the best that we have seen so far.

Ford Endeavour is currently the flagship model from the brand. Last year, Ford launched BS6 version of Endeavour in the market. The SUV was earlier available with a 2.2 litre turbo diesel and a 3.2 litre turbo diesel engine option. The updated BS6 version of the SUV now comes with a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 167 Bhp and 420 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford is also working on a brand new Endeavour and the same was spotted testing abroad recently. The SUV is probably going to have a lot more squarish or sharp design language with headlamps inspired from their popular F-series pickup truck. The upcoming Endeavour is expected to get a much more powerful engine. It might be available with a 2.0 litre twin turbocharged diesel engine that generates a maximum of 217 Ps and 500 Nm of peak torque. This would make the Endeavour at par with some of its competition like Toyota Fortuner in the segment.

If you drive vehicles, then you should be aware that clutch is one of the most important part of a vehicle. It is the component that connects the engine to transmission. If the clutch plate on your vehicles gets damaged, then the engine won’t be able to send power to the wheels and the car won’t move as there is no power. Over the course of driving, clutch plate in a car goes through rough and tough use due to driving style and conditions. Conditions like bumper to bumper traffic, hilly roads decrease the life of clutch on a car. In this article, we discuss some of the signs that would let you know about the life of the clutch plate.

When is the right time to replace your car’s clutch plates: Explained

Grinding Noise

A grinding or growling noise in the car when the clutch pedal is pressed or released is usually associated with a worn-out or a bad bearing. It is recommended to get the clutch plate checked as it will end up causing more damage and might also damage other mechanicals, if not inspected or repaired.

Slippage

This is the most common sign of your clutch plate ageing. It is basically when the Rpms of the engine increase but, the car does not gain any speed or is gaining speed very slowly. This means, the clutch on your vehicle has started to slip and is near the end of its life. Reason why, clutch slips is because the clutch plates are not able to provide enough traction and power from engine to transmission.

When is the right time to replace your car’s clutch plates: Explained

Shuddering

Shuddering is the shaking or hopping feeling that one gets when you release the clutch too fast. If the hopping feel continues while driving at slow speeds, there is something wrong with the clutch system. At times, there have been instances when water gets into the system after driving through flooded roads. In this case, the hopping effect goes away after driving for some kilometres.

If the issue continues, then get in touch with a mechanic. This issue can also occur due to other reasons like misaligned engine and transmission, worn out engine mounts or the friction plate in the clutch is not working properly.

Hard Gear Shifts

Normally gears can be shifted smoothly in a car. If you have to use more force than usual to engage a gear and there are mechanical noises while shifting gear after completely pressing the clutch, then there is something wrong with the clutch. Some times, the issue can be fixed by making some adjustments or by replacing some parts.

When is the right time to replace your car’s clutch plates: Explained

Why is it important to replace clutch

In normal driving conditions, life of clutch is pretty long. They can last upto 1 lakh kms. If you are driving in city driving conditions with bumper to bumper traffic, then there are chances that you might have to replace the clutch sooner. Depending upon the signs, the cost of repair on your car might differ. If you are experiencing slippage, then it might cost you somewhere between Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000. In expensive cars, it can go as high as Rs 50,000.

There will be further incentives and bonuses as well which will depend on the host rating on Zoomcar Host.

What are the advantages of Self-driven rental cars?

The sheer pleasure of driving the car yourself: Many people enjoy road trips when they drive the car themselves. Because of this, they do not want to hire a cab because then it will be driven by a driver.
Confidence in driving the car yourself: There are many people out there who trust their driving because they know what they will do in a certain situation whereas trusting a cab driver’s way is something that not all people agree upon.
More economical: Driving a car yourself is more economical than renting a cab because then you are also paying for the driver. If you just hire a rental car then you would have to pay the rent, toll and fuel expenses.
Zoomcar also has a subscription service

Indian politicians are usually not known for their fine taste in automobiles, with most of them owning one or two popular SUVs in general. However, M.T.B. Nagaraj from Karnataka is an exception. The state minister for small scale industries and municipal administration has an envious car collection, which is nothing short of a dream for car enthusiasts. Following are all the premium cars owned by M.T.B. Nagaraj, which includes top-of-the-line luxury saloons and rugged premium SUVs:

The luxury chariot on wheels comes with a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine, which makes 563 bhp of maximum power and 900 Nm of torque.

The only supercar in the garage of M.T.B. Nagaraj, the Ferrari F8 Tributo is one of the most desirable Ferraris of the modern era. Nagaraj owns this sleek and low slung supercar in a cool looking shade of blue. The heart of the Ferrari F8 Tributo is a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, that pumps out 710 bhp of power and 770 Nm of torque, making it the fastest car in his garage.

Bentley Continental GT

White is one of the most sophisticated looking colours for a luxury vehicle, with another white-coloured luxury vehicle in Nagaraj’s car collection is a Bentley Continental GT. This two-door luxury coupe has an immense road presence and a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 petrol engine that churns out 500 bhp of maximum power and 660 Nm of maximum torque.

Mercedes Benz GL350 CDI

M.T.B. Nagaraj owns a previous generation Mercedes Benz GL350 CDI, which was replaced by the all-new GLS-Class in 2021. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine powering this luxury SUV belts out a maximum power output of 258 bhp and a peak torque output of 620 Nm.

Toyota Fortuner
In India, a politician’s car garage is considered incomplete without a Toyota Fortuner, and M.T.B. Nagaraj too owns one in a shade of white. The Toyota Fortuner is bought for its sheer road presence and incredible reliability. The Fortuner owned by the politician is supposed to be the top-spec 4×4 automatic variant, which is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine capable of producing 177 bhp of power and 450 Nm of torque.

Porsche Cayenne
The Cayenne was a breakthrough product from Porsche, which was known only for making breath-taking low-slung sports cars. Nagaraj owns a white-coloured previous generation model of the Porsche Cayenne, which was available in India with a frugal but powerful diesel engine. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine of the Porsche Cayenne generated 340 bhp of maximum power and 450 Nm of maximum torque.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
Another impressive and reliable SUV owned by M.T.B. Nagaraj is the good old Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The Prado was available in India for more than two decades and in multiple generation models. The mainstay of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in the Indian car market was a 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which used to make 170 bhp of maximum power and 410 Nm of maximum torque.

Toyota Innova Crysta
Another vehicle that is widely used by Indian politicians for the sense of comfort and reliability it offers is the Toyota Innova Crysta. Introduced in 2016, the Innova Crysta is a one-of-its-kind MPV with no direct competition. Much like most politicians, Nagaraj owns a white-coloured Toyota Innova Crysta, the 2.4-litre diesel engine of which makes 148 bhp of maximum power and 343 Nm of maximum torque.
